Counseling Services

When a child struggles emotionally, the reasons why can be complex. Our team of mental health experts help children and teens address a range of emotional and behavioral issues. Whether it is anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, ADHD or something else effecting your child’s emotional well-being, we offer answers and support.

We provide individual and family therapy (both in our office, or your home), psychiatric evaluations and medication management.

Our expert team includes psychologists, social workers, board-certified child psychiatrists and licensed alcohol and drug counselors.

Outpatient Behavioral Health

We provide mental health services to children and families experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. Our team of clinicians offers an approach that is solution-focused and strength-based. We work with families to create individualized plans of care. We help stabilize families, guide children through mental and emotional struggles using a wide range of evidence-based models.

Early Childhood Consultation Partnership

This program is designed to meet the social and emotional needs of children birth to five years old, who are in early care or education settings. Masters-level clinicians provide support and training to caregivers at the individual, family or classroom level. We help teachers and parents promote enduring and optimal outcomes for young children.

Functional Family Therapy Program

This short-term, intensive intervention program is designed for families with 11- to 18-year-old youth who have been referred for behavioral or emotional problems by the juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Treatment incorporates an average of 12 to 14 sessions over three to five months. Services are conducted in both the clinic, home, and community settings. Functional Family Therapy is a strength-based model build on a foundation of acceptance and respect.

Intensive Family Preservation Program

This concentrated, in-home program is designed to quickly support families in crisis and reduce safety risks in order to prevent unnecessary out-of-home placement of children, due to abuse. Staff is available 24/7, and the overall goal is to improve family functioning and keep families together when possible. Connecticut Department of Children and Families referral only.

Reunification & Therapeutic Family Time

This intensive, in-home service model supports family members subsequent to the removal of a child due to abuse or neglect. The frequency of sessions is based the family’s unique circumstances. There is a minimum of one home visit per week prior to reunification of the family, two visits weekly in the first 30 days after reunification, and one visit weekly after that. To ensure continued stability and success, we link families to appropriate community services prior to exiting our program. Connecticut Department of Children and Families referral only.
